The Dodge A100 series, first introduced in 1964, was a range of compact vans and trucks that quickly became a symbol of American strength and dependability. One of the defining features of the A100 series was the unique location of the engine. Unlike most trucks of the time, the engine was placed between and slightly behind the driver and passenger seats, a design known as a “forward control” or “cab over” vehicle. This not only gave the A100 a distinctive look but also improved its weight distribution, handling, and cargo capacity.
