Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is happy to present this single family owned 1967 Ford Bronco! Built as a direct competitor to the International Scout, the original Ford Bronco was initially offered in three cab types: a wagon, a pickup (discontinued after 1972), and an open model with cut-out filler panels instead of doors. Though popular, the Bronco didn’t have wide-spread utility or mass appeal and production figures weren’t nearly as high as survivorship might lead to believe. Although the open Broncos are the rarest, they aren’t collectors’ top choice since they are fair weather friends. Instead, these SUV styled wagons are the most prized. The four-wheel-drive Bronco’s earned a loyal following from new, and interest increased mainly in the central plains states and the American west, which is where this Bronco started it’s life. This is a 289 CID V-8, 3-speed manual shift (on the tree) 4×4 that is ready to be a daily driver or would be an ideal candidate for taking it to the next level of restoration. The interior of this Bronco was lovingly updated by dad some years back, but still shows remarkably well! The seat covers, door panels, head liners & carpets all show nicely, and the exterior paint glistens in the sun. We have all seen what the trends have been on this 1st Gen Broncos for the last decade or so, and there are no indicators that is going to change anytime soon, due to the modest production numbers (under 11,000), rust issues, and the tough life that most of these Broncos had are the primary reasons why these 1st generation Broncos are so rare nowadays and are highly sought-after by collectors.
