The first SUV model developed by the company, five generations of the Bronco were sold from the 1966 to 1996 model years. A sixth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2021 model year. Originally developed as a compact off-road vehicle using its own chassis, the Bronco initially competed against the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout.
This particular ’89 XLT example has been upgraded quite a bit, so follow along! Under the hood of this beast is a 351-cubic-inch V8 topped of with a Kenne Belle Supercharger Kit and Snow Performance Methanol Injection! Helping send power to the rear wheels is a built-up E40D Automatic Transmission, and notable suspension work includes a Solid front and rear axle upgrade sourced from an ’89 F-350. It doesn’t stop there! Fitted with a Dana 60 front differential and Dana 80 in the rear, this 9-inch lifted Bronco is ready to drive over anything with a new set of 37 inch tires!
